Excitement

I have been pretty restless lately...
I now know how Wei Lyn feels about her brother's university applications...

Why?
Tomorrow will be the first day my brother steps into secondary school...
MY alma mater... the name of the school- St. Xavier's Institution...

What is so great about that?
The school he will be enrolling in is full of heritage and tradition (that's how I view it)
It is my alma mater, but that's not all...
It was my father's alma mater too, and the school my aunts and uncles studied in...
We are only the second generations of Xaverians, but I know people who are third and fourth generation Xaverians...
It is a school that I will be proud to send my children too when I get them...
It is the only school left in the country that has a Religious for a principal...
It is the school which moulded me into who I am today, my beliefs and my views on life...
It is where I met so many interesting people and some true friends and very good acquaintances...

I have never known excitement like this before...
I am excited because my "little" brother is following my footsteps and those of the family...
I am excited because my "little" brother is growing up...
I am excited because I am his brother...

And having spent the last 2 weeks with him has made me think of how far I have come, and how fast he has matured and grown up, and what I have missed being here in Ireland...

Enjoy it while you can. Free School now has a sign in Jawi in front.

Nice post :)
You'll relive this feeling when your bro applies to uni in 6-7 years' time too.
Totally can relate to the last part...seeing how much a sibling has grown and matured in the time you're away, even if for a while, is quite something that can't be put in words...
