My wonderfully bizarre and twisted mind started thingking again today as I walked back from Mass at the college.
I found myself walking head facing downwards as I walked home... Then, a thought came to me...
What if I found a 50 dollar bill on the ground that belonged to no one...
What would I do? What would anyone do?
Would you pocket it and be 50 dollars richer? Would you let it fly away? Would you hand it over to an authority so that the person who lost it could claim it back? or Would you give it as a donation?
I guess I'll only know what I'll do when I'm in that actual situation...
What about you?
p.s. I DID NOT find any bills on the ground even though I looked hard for one.

I would give it to the poor... But since I'm poor, that justifies the fact of me pocketing it... hehe...
Throw me a 50 dollar bill and then you'll find out. =)
But seriously, let me use this as a catechetical moment, since you've been away for so long and I haven't taught you anything.
A long time ago, the was a poor man who was very devout and faithful to God, giving and sharing whatever he had to the poor and needy. But one day, all his money ran out and he had nothing to eat, so he prayed t the Lord for deliverance, fully trusting that Yahwah jireh.
Suddenly, he lowered his eyes from Heaven and found a stack of 20 RM100 notes on the ground in front of him. "Aha!" said he. "The Lord is testing my fidelity." So he went and gave the money to the police.
As evening came and he became more hungry, he again raised his eyes to Heaven and pleaded with the Lord for providence. Suddenly, he heard a loud sound and saw a pizza delivery guy riding over a bump. His pouch was open and a pizza was on the road in front of the man's house. He picked up the pizza and as the smell of the pepperoni and cheese filled hit little hut with its delectable odour, the man thought to himself "Aha!" said he. "The Lord is testing my fidelity again." So he went to the PizzaHut and handed over the pizza and told them the story of how it fell outside his house.
As he exited the station, the sky darkened and the a loud rumbling sound was heard as lighting streaked across the sky. A bolt came down from the heavens and stuck him dead.
As he appeared before God's throne, the man was a bit angry and asked God "Why O Lord, did you strike your faithful servant who was passed your tests??
In a thundering voice, the Lord replied, 'You fool. Why do you test me so? You asked and I provided. Yahweh jireh and all that. It's in the Bible. Go check it out. But each time, you spurned My gift and tested My patience. First, I gave you money, but you gave it to the crooks at the police station. Next, since you wont take money, I gave you food, but instead of thanking me, you thought I was tetsing you when you were most needy. What kind of God do you think I am? And the worse part is, you gave the Domino's pizza I sent you to the PizzaHut you are eating it right now. So it became clear to me that the only way I can help you is to take you Home."
Finding money and pizza is different from finding a wallet.
Firstly, the Lord works in mysterious ways and not everything that is put before you is a test. Sometimes its just a gift, a reward from God.
Secondly, the Lord works through ordinary ways to bless us. Sometimes, its just best to take it and not try His patience.
ah, this is the same story as the guy in the flood who refused help... hehe... oh well.ii I know what to do now when i find a bill...
