Decisions

Change is inevitable. There comes a time in life when we realise that what we have been doing, whatever we have been holding on to is wrong, or that it doesn't work anymore. There is a time you feel disappointed because people let you down. Then you think again and find that there was no rule saying that you were not supposed to be let down and that someone should treat you in the manner you expect. We always do expect that, but in reality the law of life does not follow your personal ideals and expectations does it?

There are time when you believe in someone so much thinking that if you put in your part of the effort plus a little more, you may be able to change the recipients attitude, but that doesn't mean it will or it should? All you can do is hope and wait.

The problem is sometimes you wait and wait and wait, until the time comes when you can wait no longer, then you start to think if it was worth your while to have put in the effort without any reciprocation. If you should continue on or if it is time to let go.

To let go is hard, but sometimes it is the only way to go. You know deep down that there is only one possibility but you want to deny it, you want to imagine that it never existed, that this utterly horrible path should never be taken, but therein lies the trap, the trap of attachment, which then becomes your master, and you the slave.

Maybe it is better to let go and start anew? Maybe not... but you never know what is on the other side of the fence till you have jumped across it. You need to be brave to take the road less travelled, it may eventually be more rewarding, or it may open you to new experiences, to fresh and green pastures where a whole new horizon dawns on you and your life is transformed forever.

It is hard to make a choice when you arrive at the crossroads if you do not know the way? You need a signboard to give you directions, but sometimes you need to follow your instinct, sometimes you need to be able to make your own choices. After all it is your life and not anyone elses. You need to be in control and not be the slave of that sliver of hope.

The world revolves, and nothing is constant, but it is precisely this that makes life interesting. Our problem is that we want to hold on to whatever we have and to have more, but without realising that we sometimes need to let go before we can accumulate that something more which we want.
